Lara Flynn Boyle’s statement to Deadline.com:
There goes the true Willy Wonka of filmmaking. I feel like I got the golden ticket getting a chance to work with him. He will be greatly missed.
─Lara Flynn Boyle
Lara Flynn Boyle became part of David Lynch’s universe in 1989 when she was cast as Laura Palmer’s best friend Donna Hayward in Twin Peaks. Though she notably declined to return for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), leading to Moira Kelly taking over the role, citing scheduling conflicts and quite possibly her discomfort with the movie’s graphic tone. Beyond Twin Peaks, Boyle went on to prominent roles in TV shows like The Practice and films like Men in Black II, but her connection to Lynch’s work remains her most iconic association.
